Wicked Skin: Brazilian Waxing in Providence, Run by Someone Who Gets It

Wax specialist holding professional waxing aftercare and exfoliating skincare products

I'm Megan, the one-woman show behind Wicked Skin, tucked inside Pretty Things in Providence's West End.

I do things a little differently around here: vegan low-temp hard wax, appointments that never feel rushed, and a table where queer, neurodivergent, and every-kind-of-body clients feel genuinely at home. People find their way to me from Federal Hill, Fox Point, and College Hill, and drive in from Cranston and Pawtucket, mostly because a waxer who feels like a friend is weirdly hard to come by.

How Wicked Skin Came to Be in Providence

Wicked Skin wax specialist holding a Rhode Island Monthly Best of Rhode Island award

Wicked Skin is me, Megan Lowney, a licensed esthetician who got into waxing in 2023 after a corporate layoff nudged me toward the career I actually wanted. I started my own buisness in Providence in 2026 with one mission: to be the affirming, neurodivergent-and-LGBTQIA-welcoming waxer. Two years in, I've built a loyal following across the West End and greater Providence, and Rhode Island Monthly named Wicked Skin a Best of 2026 for bikini waxing. If you want to see what clients think for yourself, you can always find me on Google.

Where to Find Me in Providence's West End

You'll find Wicked Skin inside Pretty Things at 375 Washington Street, right in the West End and only a few minutes from downtown and the shops at Providence Place Mall. I'm easy to reach from Federal Hill, Fox Point, and College Hill, and a straight shot off I-95 if you're coming from Cranston, Pawtucket, or East Providence. Street parking is around, and the 02903 area is walkable if you're local. Plenty of my regulars grab pizza on Federal Hill first, then come in for Brazilian waxing here in Providence.

What Providence Clients Are Saying

Every quote below comes from a real Providence client, no scripts and nothing paid for. If you want the full picture, you can read what clients are saying on Google.

  • "Megan was super thorough and this was still one of the least painful Brazilian waxes I've had in a while! I also appreciated how friendly she was; it's always much easier to get a wax when you're distracted by conversation."

  • "She put me at ease and answered all of my questions, since this is my first time getting a bikini wax service."

  • "Feeling vulnerable and anxious about the process, Megan made me feel safe. I highly recommend whether it's your first time or looking for somewhere new."
